Shocking Results from Day 1 of the experiment

It’s been 19 hours since the start of this intense regimen. So far I’ve done 50 push-ups and 50 sit-ups, which is roughly 50 push-ups and 50 sit-ups more than I was going to do without the discipline of the Easy Grind method.

The Discipline is built right in: Part of what makes the Easy Grind method work so well, so far, is the fact that I told you in yesterday’s post that I would give regular updates on my plan to lose 8 pounds in 2-weeks. As it turns out, that is exactly the kind of thing you shouldn’t do if you were just mouthing off in a public forum about a “brilliant” “plan” you hadn’t really thought all the way through yet. Committing to an audience, under those circumstances, is always a huge mistake. So… shit. I guess we’re really doing this.

Update: Here’s what I’ve learned so far.

I probably should have started with “I’m not a doctor or a Personal Fitness Trainer.” Because believe it or not, to candy and cake aficionados like myself, unexpected bouts of healthy activities can be jarring and perhaps dangerous. Even for someone who received the “Presidential Fitness” and “Participation” awards in grade school, it turns out that not exercising for decades does make a difference in one’s ability to suddenly exercise.
