Very well said, Odin. I came to Medium thinking I’d write about something else, but I find myself gravitating more and more to writing in a similar theme to what you are saying here. It feels like a call to action is needed to remember what makes humans great, not what makes us weak. Sometimes it feels like we are running out of time. But I don’t know if that’s really true. It seems like we are always on a razor's edge in terms of what’s coming next. Will it be “Star Trek” or “Planet of the Apes?”

But there are plenty of hopeful stories out there. We shouldn't shy away from good modern myths just because they are made by large corporations. We wouldn't have Star Trek or the Avengers without them. And those stories and their impact should not be discounted. We need those messages about ourselves now.
